Great camera, good price
Own two, one from amazon and one from another retailer.
Quality and clarity
A Valentine’s gift for my less than techie husband and he is having a great time with it. It takes wonderful photos! When he had some questions, the Bushnell service rep Mark walked him through the setup step by step. There are many photo options, it seems well built and even the night photos are sharp and clear. He sat it up in back yard and it captured a coyote loping thru our yard! Great purchase, great service!
I would have no idea what’s going on in my yard without this
What I like about this camera over my other one (Stealthcam) is it names all the photos as the date and time, so you never have the same file name if you end up transferring all the good pictures to the same folder on your computer.
Works just as advertised and I’m having a lot of fun seeing what kind of critters are walking my property …
Disclaimer: I have only used this camera for photos and have not experimented with the video option.
OK, but not perfect
I’ve had this camera in use for about three weeks now, and it’s working OK, although the exposure and quality of pictures – especially night shots – isn’t as good as I wish it was. It’s fairly easy to use, once you get the hang of it. I use a memory chip (NOT provided with the camera) to transfer the photos to my PC, but since my PC has no slot for the small chip, I have to first transfer the files to my digital camera, which converts them to a readable format. It’s a little awkward, but it works. Night photos are blurry if the animal is moving at all, and exposure of the daytime photos is highly variable. I’ve tried adjusting the shutter speed, but it didn’t help much. I’ve found that I can adjust dark photos with my Corel Paintshop software, which greatly improves their quality. I also get quite a few shots with no apparent animate subject anywhere in the picture. I don’t know if birds flying past could trigger the camera, and it’s just not quite fast enough to catch them before they’re out of the frame.
A very good camera
I wanted to see what was eating the cat food on the sun porch at night. I bought a Moultrie A-5 and the pictures were very unsatisfactory. I sent it back and got this one.
