A Perfect Replacement for QT-548 DVR

 on November 6, 2017

The Q-See THH41-1 HD Analog DVR was a replacement for my obsolete QT-548 DVR. My existing DVR finally quit after about 5 years of usage. I chose a replacement DVR because all of my existing Q-See security cameras were already installed and working perfectly. Installation of the new DVR was simple…just disconnect the existing wire configurations and voila. I was up and running in short order. Everything worked perfectly!

I had 2 other q-see dvrs but this one is buggy , it works but using the quick MAC login is ok at best and It can only be used to log in on the PC. on my old QT model I could just log in using my ip address but with this not one PC would log in, you have to use the qtview website and try many times to log in and it sucks. I could use the IP address log in with the non hd android app but the hd will not work if I am on the home network, if I used the MAC I could but the log in time was much longer then I like and if I use the MAC log in on OTA or another WIFI if was hit or miss to log into it, so this means I use the non HD app to QT view not QT HD view and using a PC is poor at best. Would I buy this again…no

Compact size compared to the Q-See DVR it replaced but it doesn’t support my remote controlled camera so now the remote camera is dead in the water. Thanks Q-See for recommending this replacement. Not.

Meets my expectations thus far….

Good price. Neat size. Easy to install. Works great with previously installed cameras. I’ve noticed that it gets mighty hot… Have reduced that problem somewhat by lifting it slightly off the stand to create some ventilation. I’ve only had it for about 5 weeks. I hope it lasts at least 5 years without any problems.
