Massive 2.4GHz Interference, but Works Well Overall.
A system with great potential ruined by easily fixable issues.
Great prodoct add on
Bought these as add on to the boxed set with 4 cameras. Hooked up easily and immediately read into the system over our existing wifi. Pictures immediatley came up on our Android phones. Pictures are clear and colors are good.
It does the job for me
It works fine for me, giving a good, clear, uninterrupted view of the front lawn and driveway. I have not noticed any interference with my wifi. This unit is not susceptible to video noise from my router or wireless mouse, which the camera I replaced was. Can’t comment on night vision as I have this inside looking through a window to the outside, so when the ir lamps come on at night, all I see is their reflection which is what I expected. I am rating the camera four stars for two reasons: the motion of cars passing on the street is not smooth despite the camera signal at full strength of four bars. Also, the signal strength indicator, which is nice to have, cannot be turned off, so its on screen full time which annoys me. If I was using a display screen susceptible to burn-in this coud be as issue as well.
I really like the lorex system (dvr and wireless cameras) but the …
Even though i only gave 3 Stars, I really like the lorex system (dvr and wireless cameras) but the cameras only last 1+ or 2 years before they need to be replaced (the warranty is only good for 1 year, so of course they go bad once it expires). Customer service is awesome and very helpful Also, something very annoying, my DVR will not recognize the mouse or remote without a system reboot. **important note* I did buy my system about 6 years ago, so the DVR reboot/mouse/remote issue may be resolved by now.
Good Product, Lousy Customer Service
I purchased this camera to replace a LW2110 wireless that died. The 2231 is certainly a better camera and has worked well for 4 months now. Resolution and low- light capability are both superior to the 2110. Beware of Lorex customer service though. If you have an issue with one of their products as I did, you might wait months for a response to your inquiry, only to have the case closed with no assistance. My security system has 4 Lorex cameras, linked to a Lorex DVR and monitor. With the exception of the one camera I’ve had no issues. Lorex makes a decent product hence the 4 stars, but their C.S. is pathetic.
