Nice Product…So Far
This review will begin with the first impression of the product in the box. After I get it installed I will return to update this review on its performance.
First I’m no guru by any means but sort of tech savvy so to speak. I researched and researched and finally wanted a cost effective system to see how it will work out. Well first off I ran my own cat5 wire and all I had to do was splice the ends on. What’s nice is the female end of the camera has a light that indicates if a connection is made and it’s communicating with the nvr so you know you have a solid connection. It comes with cables but I already ran my own. Now getting it up and running was a breeze because it really is a plug and play. The only issue I had was for whatever reason my IP address wasn’t populating in the nvr so I had to type it in and it was good to go. Maybe it was my att router causing the issue but it was fixed in a second. I have not played with the email alerts yet so I will update when I have some time to get that up. Once your on the network you can install the app on your smart phone by simply scanning the qr code and the rest is simple. It really is a decent beginning system with the ease of connecting/viewing your home while away at work. So far so good. I will attach some photos. The night vision is ok but for the price I’m not complaining.
Just about the best system you’ll find for the price.
PROS: Everything you need is included. Solid cameras w/ high quality 1080×960 image and good night performance. PoE simplicity/flexibility. High quality 1TB WD Purple hard drive. Small form factor NVR case. Simple software navigation within the NVR itself. Remote monitoring through cell phone app.
I would strongly recommend this system to anyone looking for a basic intro …
I received this system in yesterday and was excited to get it setup. Initially I was looking to purchase a 960H system (over 1,000 reviews which were positive for the most part) with a 500Gb hard drive system with a price of 239.00. What sold me on this system is the fact it was HD and had a 1TB hard drive . Further more was one simple cable for each camera which supplied power and video. Before mounting the cameras and running the wires I plugged in everything before setting it up. This system is truly plug and play and it all worked flawlessly. I unplugged the system and mounted the cameras/cable outside. The instructions which came with the system were limited and I just winged it with the installation and getting the software going. I scanned the barcode with my iPhone during system setup to download the app. This part was a bit challenging but I eventually figured it out and now I can monitor all four cameras with my iPhone, I found the app to be very functional and was able to spot record and take photos on the fly with any camera I selected. Be patient with setting up the app, it all came together for me with a degree of effort. I am no IT tech, but I just tinkered with the software and had success. I ran an ethernet cable from my router and it immediately recognized my network. I inputted my wireless password and it connected without hassle. Again be patient and don’t give up. The system practically walks you through it all, but it will take a bit of thought for it to come together. I would strongly recommend this system to anyone looking for a basic intro system.
A mixed bag. OK if you’re very patient. Support is good.
It’s hard to know how to rate this. For the most part, the hardware is fine. The exception is the mounting brackets on the cameras. If you mount them on a wall and don’t point them straight out, at 90 degrees to the wall, there is no way to level the camera. The result is as shown in the first photo, where a level road appears to be on a very steep hill.
Good product. Easy to install and set up
Good product. Easy to install and set up, I’ve got also internet set ( Hard wired to my router and with the smart phone app XMEye I can look them from everywhere). I like the option that the cameras are wired POE, using CAT5 Ethernet wire, so you can DIY longer and custom wiring. The only downside is that the cameras doesn’t have zoom out , but it’s ok. I installed two 19″ screens ( one in my living room and one on the second floor hallway with HDMI splitter ) so I can monitoring from everywhere.
Budget Security System
*** NOT A PAID REVIEW ***
Good for the price with Challenges to live with.
For the price it’s a good system. The camera housing is solid and the DVR is quite and small which I really like. The CAT5 cables come with great weather protection casings for the RJ45 connection to the camera. I did have 1 camera which the black hood insert with detached from the camera when I removed it from the box. But it is simply glued in, so I can fix that. Other wise the camera have a good quality image and night vision.
There are many things about this system that I really like. First of all
After having outdoor furniture stolen from my front porch in the dead of night, I decided I needed a surveillance system. After researching many options I settled on this one.
Probably the best value PoE 4 channel camera system you can get if you’re willing to learn the backwards software interface.
This unit is a solid 4 stars. I’d give it 5 of 5 for value, 4 of 5 for the cameras themselves, and 1 of 5 on it’s kludge setup interface. I setup the four camera system for a friend and ran the included wires without issue well hidden in the overhangs of his roof. Very discreet system and easily setup vs. older composite RCA and 12v models. Runs easily 100+ feet on Cat 5e cable which can be extended easily with couplers if you need to.
