I found this one with good reviews and did not hesitate to try it
The OOSSXX 4 Channel HD 960P wireless network camera solved my problem for installing a security cameras around the house. My first option was to install a wired network camera but I realized the hassle and the challenges of wiring the cameras. I found this one with good reviews and did not hesitate to try it. When I received the unit did not even read the manual but followed the video tutorial posted here. The moment I turned on the power and follow the instruction on the video tutorial, the unit detects the 4 cameras right away one at a time, just like plug and play. I did some trial installation on my main door, back door , garage and one outside to view where my AC and circuit breaker box located by using an extension power cords just to see how they’re working. I was amazed the wireless connection was steady although you can see the wireless bar on the monitor falls back and forth. I was not sure if I can get a good signal from the one outside but man, I got good reception with 2 to 3 bars. For two weeks now I have not experience any lost connection so far. Regarding the free APP, IP Pro, it’s simple and it works. The APP is buggy at times but you just have to close it and run it again. I can easily access the camera from work or away from home using my Iphone 6 connected to wifi or 4G/LTE, it takes a few second for the APP to load the images but once its running, you just have to swipe left and right to see the streaming video. By the way, my house is a single story ,2400 sq ft. , the signal from the transmitter/receiver has to penetrate two walls before it reaches the camera outside and I still got 2-3 bars signal strength without loss of video transmission. One more thing, one of the camera’s night vision is defective, so I emailed the seller about the problem and they send me another extra camera without even asking to return the defective one. Thank you very much and kudos to the superb customer service…☺☺☺
Great Quality System
I’ve had this camera system installed for about a week now. So far so good. Overall, the installation was very straightforward and easy. I installed all four cameras under the eaves of my house. The furthest cameras are on the opposite side of my garage, so the signal has about 4 walls (drywall) to go through to get to the NVR. I’ve had no problems with signal so far. I did erroneously order the model without the hard disk installed, so I ordered a 1TB Western Digital HDD and installed it. Pretty straight forward on that too. All the mountings matched perfectly for installation and they included the mounting screws with the NVR so that was convenient. I’ve played around with the playback a bit and that was pretty easy. We noticed someone had dropped something off at our front door while go, so we were able to playback to see who dropped it off and when. That was nice. As far as install goes, I first plugged the NVR in and then each camera, one by one to make sure they worked from factory before installing. After confirming they worked, I installed on the outside of home and after plugging into power, the picture came on the NVR within about 45 seconds to a minute. That was it. Only real “issue” I’ve had so far is trying to figure out to work the motion detection. Haven’t figured out that yet, but I’m sure I don’t have a setting correct. Instructions were ok. They are written in a bit of broken English, but generally, I was able to decipher what I needed. I live in Michigan, so so far we’ve had a little snow and a lot of rain and no problems with picture quality. Overall, after a week of use, I would recommend this system.
Easy Installation – Excellent Product
I have only had this product for a week but my initial impressions are great.
Great Product! Great Customer Support! Easy to set up and use.
I bought this system based on user reviews on the quality of the video created and the expandability of the NVR(you get 4 cameras with it but can buy and add as many as 4 more). It does not come with a Hard Drive, so I ordered a WD Blue 1 TB with it and some extension cords for the power cords. Right out of the box the cameras auto connected to the video recorder(NVR) on power up. The NVR did not recognize my HDD(hard drive. I emailed the company and they informed me The WD Blue model HDD needed a bigger power supply(a 12V 2A was provided), so they sent me one-no charge no fuss from a US company. The new power supply(12V 3A) took a little while to arrive(amazon problem?), and when it did I plugged it in and still no recognition. Emailed the company and they said open up the NVR and take a picture of the HDD connections so they can analyze it. When I did, I reseated the HDD cables and powered it up and presto-HDD recognized. It was probably my own fault as I was being too careful with the HDD. Every step of the installation, the company answered every question within 12 hours(they are in China), even some dumb ones I had. These OOSSXX people try VERY HARD to take care of their customers-better than almost any US company I have dealt with!
A good system so far
I purchased the camera kit in April but did not get around to installing until September. Installation and mounting the cameras was the easy part and each camera was already paired. The most difficult part of the job is providing power to each camera which in my case meant running power to the attic. After that was completed the cameras were mounted at the desired locations and were up and running. The wireless range is impressive. The farthest camera is at the front of the house and the wifi signal must travel about 50′ thru 2 walls. All cameras have a clear HD picture and night vision is good. No less than 24 hours after installation 1 camera stopped working for reasons unknown! The camera was plugged in and had a strong wifi signal but not working. I powered down all cameras and restarted them. All 4 came back up including the previously non working one. It has been ok ever since. Only time will tell if it drops out again. You are limited to the apps IP PRO or Eseenet to monitor the cameras on your device. (Android in my case) The IP PRO app is a little flaky with no connection to cloud at times. The Eseenet app did not connect at all. I have not tried the email alert features. You will need to buy a hard drive and I would recommend a heavy duty hard drive designed for video monitoring since it will run all the time. I plan to purchase 2 more cameras to expand coverage. The bottom line is the system works as described and I would recommend it. If it were not for the 1 camera that dropped out for reasons unknown I would have given it 5 stars.
Works great but need an extra antenna for wireless to stream in real-time.
The cameras wood good, clear picture…the only thing is they can no handle being too far from the wireless base. For instance, one camera mounted on porch about 20 ft away works good but the other mounted about 60 ft on fence has severe delays ( the counter on the screen has delays of almost a whole minute before it catches up to real time streaming) meaning it’s not recieving from base. So, we ordered an extra antenna to see if it helps to recieve it better. Another thing is, if you have a metal roof, the roof may or may not interfere with the wireless reception. But the cameras work great. When it’s dusk, they switch to black and white and the pict is awesome..very clear and sharp. Just got to boost the wireless signal to get them to stream live instead of delays. It’s no good if a whole minute or so gets lost because a prowler could slip right by and the camera would miss it because of the delay. Make sense? Anyway, great cameras. Yes I’d reccomend but get a booster for a better signal if they are going to be more than say 20 ft from the base. 4 star for great cameras but 1 star for wireless that needs boosting..Thanks.
